Long before coffee, Costa Ricans drank chocolate. Our forests produced prized cacao, cherished by neighboring civilizations and used as currency.  Our chocolate enticed conquerors and was traded for precious commodities. But somewhere along the way our cacao tradition was lost, replaced with introduced crops brought by foreigners in a foreign land.

Looking back to Costa Rica’s historical roots, Sibú Chocolate has begun a chocolate renaissance where fine flavor reigns supreme. And like our country’s original chocolate makers, Sibú chocolatiers craft their chocolates by hand with organic Costa Rican cacao and only the freshest all-natural ingredients.
